Our arboriculturist’s report on the willows at the Garth pond has advised they require re-coppicing to reinvigorate them and ensure no more large branches fall onto the path. Acting on that advice, Cawood Parish Council have permission from Selby District Council to carry out the works. This will be undertaken tomorrow, Monday March 1st, by local tree surgeons, Branches Out.

Whilst machinery is on the Garth and the work is in progress, there will be no access along the path going from Thorpe Lane to Broad Lane for everyone’s safety. The work will hopefully commence at 9:30 allowing parents and carers to safely deliver children to school first.

We shall be donating the wood chippings to the Allotment Society and also creating a log pile to extend our natural habitats in the Garth. Please ensure the log pile remains undisturbed once it’s been created.

Thank you for your understanding.
