As part of a National chain of beacons, our  BEACON WILL BE LIT AT 9:45 PM ON THE FORESHORE by our esteemed resident Gordon Pool

CAWOOD UKULELE GROUP WILL ENTERTAIN FROM 9:30PM.  

PLEASE LEAVE CAR PARKING SPACES FREE EITHER SIDE OF THE BEACON FOR ACCESS from Weds midday onwards

Official Proclamation on Beacon Lighting June 2nd2022 

A very big thank you to Stryder’s Budgie for so generously changing their playing times to fit in with beacon lighting and also to Jono at The Ferry for kindly working with us on this too.

SUNDAY JUNE 5TH. 

VILLAGE PARADE AND GARDEN PARTY. 

THE PEDESTRIAN ONLY PARADE STARTS AT LIDDLE’S FARM ENTRANCE AT 12:30PM AND WALKS THROUGH THE VILLAGE TO THE SCHOOL IN BROAD LANE.

We know Her Majesty loves corgis, but please don’t bring your doggy pals on the parade or to the school.

PLEASE DRESS UP AS ROYALTY!  

The parade will follow in the footsteps of kings by walking across the Garth:

CAWOOD PARADE ROUTE

A CELEBRATORY GARDEN PARTY WILL BE HELD ON THE SCHOOL PLAYING FIELD AFTER THE PARADE.

THERE WILL BE UNSUPERVISED GAMES AVAILABLE FOR CHILDREN.

BRING YOUR OWN PICNIC. 

THE SCHOOL GATES WILL BE OPEN FROM 9AM – 11AM FOR FOLKS TO PUT UP THEIR OWN GAZEBOS, BRING CHAIRS, RUGS ETC AND THEN RE-OPEN AT 12:30 TO WELCOME OUR PARADE.

THE GARDEN PARTY WILL END AT 4:0pm, when we’ll have a right royal tidy up, bin bags will be provided but can you please take your rubbish home with you, then gates will be closed 4:30pm

  • Graham & Eddie Liddle are kindly filling the beacon for us so we can take part in the National Beacon lighting event
  • Nick Payling is allowing use of the School Playing Fields (and the school loos) for our picnic and coming in to open & lock up
  • DJ Jointing are providing barriers to facilitate the rolling roadblock for the fancy dress parade: thank you Lisa & Larry!
  • Ulla Mercer made some splendid bunting during lock down she has kindly donated for village use
  • Our local Ukelele group will be entertaining at the  Foreshore prior to beacon lighting
  • Stryder’s Budgie have generously moved their playing times at The Ferry, with Jono’s agreement, to fit in with this
