Cawood’s Christmas Market December 2024
Cawood Christmas Market 2024
Thank you to all who took part in, or came to support the Cawood Christmas market 2024, which took place Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1 December.
The event was held at The Old Boys’ School in Cawood, and was in collaboration with All Saints Church Cawood and The Pickled Postie.
The weekend was a resounding success!
The quality of the produce for sale on the craft stalls was quite astonishing. Paintings, photographs, jewellery, re-upholstered footstools, glass ware, fresh wreaths, hand wood turned items, baubles, felting, and the most amazing face painting you will ever see!
All Saints Church provided refreshments on the Saturday morning, which included tea, coffee, juice, and delicious homemade cakes. They also ran a raffle, which proved extremely popular. In total they raised over £400 which is incredible.
The Pickled Postie manned the kitchen for the late afternoon refreshments, and also ran it again for the Sunday. Again it was a huge success. They sold over 150 festive sausage rolls, along with their famous traditional sausage rolls, homemade mince pies, and of course mulled wine. Anna, who owns the Pickled Postie, donated a percentage of the profits made from the food and drink to The Old Boys’. Thank you Anna.
The shopping and feasting was accompanied by live music. The Jolly Ukes entertained the crowds with some festive tunes and carols and the atmosphere was very jolly indeed!
Eileigh-Rae brought her keyboard on the Sunday and sang and played beautifully. Villagers were quite taken aback by the talent of the young lady. Definitely a future star there!
So all in all the event was a success. The stall holders made money, the church made money, The Pickled Postie made money, and The Old Boys’ School did too. But above all, the event was thoroughly enjoyed by the local community and it kicked off the festive season in style!
See you again for the same in 2025!
